I had to even with catted downpipes, some people report no SES at all. I had a JB3 and had to use an O2 simulator to stop the code, now have JB4 running fault clear, no errors, when I switch it off error returns. Fran

Like you I went from a JB3 to a JB4, I also added DPs but the one thing I don't love about fault clear is that it clears everything not just your 02 signal errors so any other messages your engine wants to tell you about are also cleared out.

Or is my understanding incorrect?

If you have autoclear on with the JB4 it will clear everything. I have a JB4 but also have the V3 DPFIX. That way I can keep autoclear off and see if I am throwing other codes that might be of concern.

Tel me about this, is this something recent. Went to get my cat inspected computer couldn't get any info from my ECU as it is constantly clearing everything. Been running with autoclear off, to build up info for the computer to read, will clear the DP codes when I go in for re-inspection, is this something new?

Thanks,
Fran

I may go this route, makes sense to me.

Terry, should build in the DP fix into the JB4. He's spending too much on the gadgetry stuff.

Actually your all wrong about the autoclear setting..when a real code comes up ,it will not clear immediately.if this happens you should turn off auto clear and check the codes right away..a real code won't autoclear!!

I think that is where YOU are mistaken. Every code is a real code regardless of what it is. A fault code will clear when autoclear is on. When my JB4 autoclear was on, it cleared everything. It doesn't selectively clear some codes and leave others. When I had AC on and then disabled the JB4 to check with the BT tool, there were no codes at all. Now that I have the V3 DPFIX and my AC is disabled I can read my codes after taking the JB4 back to MAP 0.

Better peace of mind for me, but to each his own....

Fran,

No, it's not new. I was running for a while with the autoclear on and even the JB4 would tell me I had no codes. I had spoken to Terry via email and after mulling about it I decided to get the DPFIX. Even though autoclear is awesome, I prefer to be able to read the codes in case a problem arises.

Also if you have autoclear on and the JB4 is not disabled, you cannot run a scan with the Bt tool as it won't be able to see the ECU. That's why Terry recommends that the JB4 be placed in MAP 0/disabled to hook up the BT tool.
