When Did BMW Switch from N54 to N55?
I posted this on the BMW forum, but I figured I'd try over here as well.
When did BMW switch over from the N54 to the N55? 2010? 2011? I'm asking because I'm of the belief that the N55 single turbos have had fewer issues with the HPFP than the N54. But perhaps someone could enlighten me a bit. Thanks! |

MY 2010 were the last N54 powered 1's & 3's unless its a 1M or 335is
Sadly the N55 doesnt eradicate HPFP issues, but apparently here in Canada they are a BMW warrantied part for 10 years or 200,000kms (but you'll no doubt have to eat the labour charges) |

My tuner told me IF the HPFP is made by Bosch... it is junk and it WILL fail, not if but WHEN. IF you have a Conti made HPFP... they seem to hold up well. Either way... there have been some N55 engines with HPFP issues. Dackel |
