If your local store doesn't have it you can go online and order it for delivery to a local store. It doesn't cost you any shipping.

Apparently 7 but JimD has a thread on his oil change and said he took 6 and it was reading max. Check the sticky threads.

6.5L or 6.9qts is the oil capacity when changing the filter for N54/N55 engines. I believe the N52 holds the same amount.

I'm going to be doing another oil change soon, I am now out of warranty. I already got the filter and plan to use the acceptable Mobil 1 from Walmart. I am considering putting in only 5 qts to see if my gauge works. I asked them to check it last "free" maintenance and they said it was working fine. But still I wonder about it reading full at 6 quarts. Probably I will just do 6 again and see what it does. I don't want to hurt the engine, obviously, but I'd also like to know if I have a functional gauge. I wasn't trying to test anything the first time this happened, I just routinely put in a half quart to quart less because taking it out is so difficult. We have another charity oil change Saturday at church and I will probably do my normal 7-10 cars and I will fill them all putting in a little less than called for and checking before putting in the rest. It's surprising how often the recommended amount is not what results in a full indication on the dipstick.

Jim
