The gas struts keep the bonnet open instead of a bonnet stay the 1m standard struts are quite powerful as the standard bonnet is heavy the carbon bonnet isn't the carbon Bonnet was being put under load when shut I didn't want this to damage the bonnet or flex the paint too much so I wanted less powerful gas struts the m3 uses gas struts alot less powerful because it's bonnet is much lighter so I changed to these.

Can we get some better pics of the fitment or issues with the "flush fitment" that you described. Can't tell from the above photos.

+ 1 I'd like to see pics of all the gaps if possible. Also need to see if it sits flush.

The (apparently non production) Starck Hood on my Clockwork Orange have open vents. I've driven the car through these Florida typhoons and have never had a single problem. In other words, don't worry about the vents guys. You'll be fine

Haha I guess you can never be "too safe" with this car. Still waiting on any update on pictures

I definitely want a power dome on my 1M - the Seibon Bonnet seems to be the best fitting and only real option right now am I right?

Appart from Flex///M's Starck hood, which don't even seem to be in production, there aren't any other real alternatives in CF are there? Especially in Europe

Forgive me for asking but whom are you referring to? A company in Europe working on some killer CF power dome hoods?

Mr_M thanks! I had actually read about Slek in a thread about iCarbon (Starck??) vs Slek Power Dome hoods, however, the Slek hood is significantly more expensive (and with no vents). It starts at $1550 for a single sided CF hood and $1800 for double sided (shipped to the US, I live in Switzerland). Seibon doesn't seem to specify if it is single or double sided CF.

Has anyone been able to see both? And check the fitting?

Those prices are good for the fiber glass option though this statement from their site is something to consider: Please note: Some fitment work might be necessary because it is handmade items!
