Odd comfort Access/FOB issue
So for the last week whenever I go out to my car in the morning I cannot simply open the door with my hand, I have to use the FOB and even then i have to press it like 10 times at least to get it to unlock. Later in the day the fob will work 100% and comfort access will work just as normal. Is there any way to reset the module so this doesn't happen? Or could it be something like my battery is going dead? No other issues besides this.
This morning I actually had to use the manual key to open my door because the FOB wouldn't work |

I had a similar problem and I replaced the battery. I checked it's voltage and it was still fine. My conclusion is gremlins!

Sometimes, if you have your cell phone too close to it, it won't work, so that may be the issue potentially.
Yesterday, I had my FOB in my hand in the driver's seat and the car wouldn't start as I got the NO KEY symbol. Didn't even have my cell phone on me. And my car is brand new, so can't imagine it's a weak battery. Very odd. |

It's at the dealer right now getting the turbos replaced and my SA said the battery was tested and it came back pretty low, which was more than likely causing this issue. Getting a new one to the tune of FOUR HUNDRED FUCKIN DOLLARS. Jesus.

Maybe you dealer is just trying to elimate a key fob issue since your car is stil under warranty. Did you have this problem with BOTH key fobs?

My bad for being vague. Not the FOB battery, the car battery. Car is out of warranty as well.

Its not the battery since that was replaced in the fob. Also, tint could be partly to blame. I hate CA 30% of the time it was just designed poorly by BMW as my 06 IS350 worked perfect everytime...

Doesn't the manual state that you have to insert the fob into the keyslot every once in a while on a long trip since that will charge the battery in the FOB?

Alright just wanted to give an update...It wasn't the car battery. It worked slightly better after replacing that but I just replaced the battery in my remote yesterday and now it's working at 100% again. Anyone that is having this issue just replace the battery in the remote (it's a CR2032). And unlike other BMW models it's really easy to do it on our FOBs!
