How about the power boost for about $300 and keep the stupid badge/grilles/etc.?

Are you guys kidding?
This is fantastic - an OEM solution for 20HP and 30 TQ for $500... Now no need to waste $200-500+ for the aftermarket tunes that have potential to void the warranty. The other OEM solutions previously were >$2,500 with install. It's nice to see BMW stepping up to the plate Subscribed. |

Im not a fan of this kinda thing. Still, if you can buy 20 horses for $550, actually it is a pretty good deal! I would not buy it though...

If I could get a legal 20 hp for my 135i for $550 plus (reasonable) labor, I would order mine today.

It's still a good price for an OEM upgrade. Hell, OEM grills are $100+ at my dealer.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

DUMB.
Yes, I read all the previous posts. On a serious side note, thank god it is only $550. At least they priced it right. I wouldn't mind having it. But for those people informed enough about aftermarket mods and turbo tuning, they would know they can get better option for the price and still maintain warranty. I can't help but laugh at people freaking out about voiding warranty. Its not that hard, but also not that easy. Chill out. You guys need more experience with dealerships and performance tuning. Nonetheless, "cool" option for those teenage kids with rich parents. "Daddy, I want the E90 because it has *PERFORMANCE* badge option. New F30 doesn't have one!!". For those educated BMW tuners, go with aftermarket tuning solutions. You will be fine. I still do respect those who just wants extra hp for good price offered through dealerships for peace-of-mind though.

If I leased my car, I really wouldn't give a shit. By all means, throw all the tuning codes you want, give me the most amount of HP for the least amount of money. I'll even let it ruin my HPFP a few times. But those here that own their vehicles and don't intend on giving them up every 2 or 3 years may want something that is from the manufacturer, and will be backed by the manufacturer. Will Cobb, Shiv, or Burger replace my engine or turbos if their product causes harm? No. But BMW NA will (prob. Dinan too). So instead of telling others what we "need" to do, why don't you tell us how these aftermarket products won't break my car and why experienced tuners would only go the AM route? |

And for the last five years BMW had the technology to make the 3 series look as good as the M3, but they didn't. Do you think there's a reason for this?
