Shell gas?

Hey guys, has anyone tried the Shell gas near Dupont and Emmerson? I believe they got the cheapest Shell gas in the GTA and the difference in price is rather substantial. My question is: is their V-power grade the same as the other more expensive Shell gas stations in terms of quality? Thanks.

I always go with Ultra 94 in Petro/Sunoco, but if none around I opt for Shell which is recommended by some dealerships to fix/band-aid the rough start/hpfp issue. From my butt dyno Ultra 94 pulls hard but rough, and Shell's v-power is smooth but I'm missing some of that raw power in the end.

Thanks for your reply, I never noticed Petro had 94, I will certainly give that a try on my next fill up.

Back to original post, the reason I ask about the quality of grade from the same brand but from different locations is that I've noticed the engine noise being louder than what it used to be when giving gas from 100km/h to about 130km/h at 2900-3500rpm on fifth gear, and I mean LOUD. The same loud noise occurs when I let go the gas pedal at that point with gear engaged back to 100km/h. I don't think this is psychological because the noise is well noticeable. Could gasoline have an affect on the engine noise at those speeds? Wanted to take this to a dealership but really hard to reproduce for them. I would appreciate if anyone could educate me on this. Thanks for taking your time

Garage List
One Shell to the next, it's the same gas...as a truck can fill up more than one station. Local price fluctuations are merely market-driven (mom 'n pop store around the corner's lowballing, or the Shell's trying to put them under, etc...).

The only vagaries are water content due to tank infiltration / condensation, if at all. The additive package for V-Power Gold grade will be the same regardless of the station.

Shell 91 is my preferred gas due to no ethanol.

Same here, I've put 23,000 km on my car in the first 6 months of ownership, and I fill up almost exclusively with Shell V-Power (I've had to break my no ethanol rule a few times when traveling to the US). My N55 has run flawlessly since day 1.

Well, I have been using Shell 91 since day 1 but HPFP still failed... so ethanol is not the cause of HPFP failure... at least in my case
