100% e85
Is anyone running 100% e85 as a daily driver?
I do a lot of highway km, is there anyway to turn down the power with e85 so I can drive on the highway but at a much lower HP so I can conserve fuel? |

I'm running 100% e85.
In short, you'll never get the same consumption as 98. it takes roughly 30% more fuel when running ethanol. I'm lucky to get 350km to a tank around town. Will let you know what i get on the highway on saturday. |

Depends what you get. Down here in canberra, caltex eflex runs between 115.9L and 119.9/L (this is minimum e70). United has the 107 octane (race), minimum E85 (tested e92) for about 139.9/L |

FWIW I went from mid 9's to 10.2L/100km going from 98 to E50.
This is mainly open hwy country road type driving with a lot of logs I'm interested in PI and PTF state they dont see no benefit with the oem turbos... marty's experience tells otherwise, as he's picked up a lot more torque and remedied his fueling issues under high loads with the PI. Mixing ratios is dead simple, you download an E85 ratio app on your phone. When you go to fill up basically you calculate how many litres you require to fill, your desired E ratio and it then calculates how many litres of E85 to add and 98. United in my area always have a separate pump for E85, so I start filling E85 first and then reverse the car back to the 98 pump and fill up on 98. Alternatively you can add your E85 and then drive to BP and fill up with 98 there. I've had my cobb since early 2013 and was also initially worried about using E85, as there are so many horrors stories out there stating it will corrode rubber fuel lines, cause fuel system corrosion due to it drawing moisture clogging up injectors and I had researched the use of E85 on the N54 for 2 years and finally earlier this year I started tuning for E85 and haven't looked back! I recall as a kid when leaded/super fuel became redundant there was a huge uproar about the introduction of unleaded fuels and how it would ruin the engine etc etc nowadays the same urban myths are being created with E85! When I do a big trip (say the oxley hwy) I can start the trip on E85 and then when I'm nearing empty fill up with 98 and reflash using the cobb AP which takes 1-2 minutes and be back on the road on my 98 map. Simple to do and when I get home fill up with E85 and reflash again back to my E50 map |

I think you can do the same with the Bavarian technic cable, I've got one but never look at it
When e 85 becomes widely available it's going to be the way to go eventually It's definetly the future of high performance cars and keeping the emissions low The only problem I found I when I was mixing the car stunk out my garage on e42 with e85 there is a funny odour but nothing like the e42 blend |

Thanks everyone!
If you get 350km for 55 (e85). And I get 550 for 70 (ron98), its close. I guess the flashing is going to be the annoying part. DR-JEKL yeah there is a lot of misinformation and scare mongering out there. |

If you talk to jd75 he can arrange a custom flash for e85 with cold start delete to help with starting on cold mornings
What happens on e85 is that it coughs and splatters with a stock tune and e85 and it takes about three or four go's before she starts |
