En Route to the U.S.??
Just an interesting data point while waiting for the car. Based on previous conversations with my SA the car has been sitting at Bremerhaven for about a week and a half with an OC status of Production Ends. Today the OC the status changed to En Route to the U.S. Which is all very interesting because the next NYK Line ship on their Round the World route is the Jinsei Maru which isn't scheduled to dock in Bremerhaven for two more days. Marinetraffic.com shows the ship traveling East through the English Channel at 16 knots about 400 nm from Bremerhaven. I called my SA and he confirmed that the car is on the Jinsei Maru.

Million bucks says I'm on the same boat.
Hahaha... Who do i make the check out to? My car is on the Fedora! Are you sure yours is on Jinsei Maru? It's strange that your status is in route when the boat hasn't even gotten to Bremerhaven... Last edited by MPowerF1; 02-15-2012 at 08:23 PM.. |

MPowerF1,
Interesting the Fedora is a Wallenisus Line Ship is headed for Port Hueneme: Fedora Schedule (Port, arrival, departure)
Did you try to enter your VIN at this Wallenisus Tracking Page? Enter your VIN in the "Cargo ID" I plugged my VIN in and nothing came up. |

I'll have to track the VIN number down from my CA but he informed me last night that the car was on the Fedora and due into SoCal on March 7th. But that's all I know... I really hope it's on the Fedora since I'm for any option which gets the car to me sooner.

MPowerF1,
I guess I owe you the million bucks! I just got off the phone with my SA and he confirmed that we're both on the Wallenius Wilhelmsen Fedora. He gave me the Bill of Landing and Xref number and it shows up on the "passenger list". So, there you have it folks. BMW is also using Wallenius Wihelmsen for West Coast Deliveries. |

Thanks for the tracking info. 6 weeks ain't bad either. I was told by my dealer that it would be ready by the 1st week of March if there are no delays... so far he's been dead on. That will make it 10 weeks for me.

Congrats guys. I just found out today that my car is still in transit to the port, so it won't make loading with this week's ship. Looking at the schedule, the next ship is gonna be a while too. They have time though since I'm not scheduled for PCD til April 13.

Just for the record...
I found the tracking sites to be only marginally accurate when tracking my 1'er. Mine actually showed a status (including on the phone) of waiting at port until the ship it was actually loaded on was almost in port. Then my car went to "en route" for 1 day and then basically went VPC the next day. Still, it's fun to watch and hope as you keep a track of your car making its way slowly across the pond. Just don't take any of the information as gospel until the car actually hits Stateside in my opinion |

Lol. I'm so wanting to move to NYC purely so that I don't have to wait an extra two weeks when I order my cars!

They should just do their testing in the NY tri-state area instead of some fancy wear and tear course, or whatever they call it. Never had a BMW before, but I'm sure it will be rattling soon after I get it like every other car I ever had. |

I saw a post on this thread about tracking ships and I thought my boat was on the Toronto ship which should have docked in Jersey this past Thursday and it did! I spoke with my dealer today and they told me its currently in Jersey and about to head out to SC and it should be at my dealer in 7-10 days!! Not too bad of a wait since I ordered a few days before Christmas.

Luckily this winter has been much milder than normal and with hardly any snow so the roads aren't too bad. Not even much sand and salt on the roads.
Now if only I had my car!!! |
