Second hand prices
Interesting to see how well the 135i seems to be holding its value. For anyone who remembers, I had a 58 plate 135i which got nicked last April after only owning it for 7 months and covering 4.5k miles.
I got £26k back from insurance on that one, with the car being ~£33k list I think, including options (Xenons, Leather, Cruise, Prof CD, Metallic, USB, Hi-fi speakers), although I paid £30.6k. That was a pretty hefty loss over a short period! Having said that, it seemed to be apparent at the time that the 135i wasn't going to be great on depreciation, and indeed, I found a very similar car to mine at Dick Lovett (?) in Swindon when I was checking used prices to see what I might get as a settlement. For a 58 plate with 3k miles and similar spec, it was actually £25.5k from a BMW dealer. On that basis I was pretty happy with £26k. I've just been looking around as I was thinking of getting another one and it seems that they're basically still around that mark 14 months later. Appreciate that you'd be able to knock them down a bit but 20% or so depreciation after getting on for 2 years is really pretty good. God, I miss that car... |

They broke into my flat and stole the keys whilst I was at work (I was commuting into London on the train at the time and didn't carry my car keys with me), along with a couple laptops and small, easy to grab electronic items
