Who has Recaro seats on the 1ers

I have a thought about getting different seats for my 1er, wonder anyone has it and can post pics, I searched and found closed to nothing

Why not take the BMW performance seats? Or are they not available / allowed in the US(?)?

I was looking at pole positions a while back. I think i might have a couple pictures i found saved on my computer at home. Ill look when i get off work.

they ARE actually recaros... specifically for the beemers. just... yeah expensive, BUT they're really high end recaro's so not too much 'brand tax' there

those Recaros are so sick.. but honestly people are pretty mild on this board for the exception of a few. so i'll be surprised to see this thread grow to much.. im in for aftermarket seats as well =) hopefully I'll be able to contribute soon =)

I actually prefer the Recaros over the BMW performance ones (don't like alcantara).

But the main problem is, where do you get the rails for it??

yea u get macht schnell mounts.
also, you will need a piggy back to immitate air bag sensors.
When you install recaro's they dont have the air bags the OEM ones do,
so your gonna get air bag warnings unless you get the piggy back too.
Also, after the piggy back, you wont have the warning lights but you also wont
have the airbags working either. Its why many people havent got recaros for this car unless serious racers.
Also, the BMW perf seats have the side airbags but from what i researched, they are meant for Euro spec cars and dont hook up right on US spec vehicles, therefore the bags wouldnt work and would get warning lights. I could be wrong on this since i havent researched this in over a year. things may have changed.

425 motorsport have seat base and also have seat belts bracket build in and only $140 a peice. MS you looking at $400 plus per side

This is exactly what I have gathered from the information available for US spec cars. I was considering some pole positions but like many don't like the idea of being airbag less.
