I'm planning on the same mod (soon), but I'm not sure what parts I'll need to get to do it. So far I got:

1. Auto Rear Final Drive, part# 33107572055
2. Wavetrac LSD

What else do I need?

If I understand how this works, I take the Auto Rear final drive unit to a shop, they can unbolt the ring gear from the carrier and bolt it onto the LSD. However, I don't know if the Auto Ring Gear + LSD will fit into the manual housing. Also, not sure if my stock ring gear+carrier can be removed from the housing w/o cutting them apart first. I've heard the Auto's housing will not fit manual car, so I can't just swap the two.

I hadn't heard about the auto housing not fitting the manual. I've done some reading on this and haven't heard of it, maybe I should do some more extensive reading (I will when I'm ready for the mod). Regardless, you're not looking for a housing, you should just worry about the carrier/diff assembly. The one for the auto transmissions is bolted so you can unbolt the diff and use that carrier to bolt up the new wavetrac/quaife (or wutever other diff u might want) to the stock auto tranny carrier. The final gear drive on that is 3.46. That whole assembly will fit into your manual transmission housing. You could also got the route Mr. 5 went, which is buying a used manual tranny differential and getting a real good machine shop to cut the welds off the diff, and then make the threads for you to bolt up ur new wavetrac diff. That route seems pretty smart since the 3.08 final gear drive is good to take advantage of our broad torque band. It really all depends on what you like. 3.46 final gear is gonna give you better acceleration but you might be losing more traction than u want to since rpms will climb somewhat faster. 3.08 seems a bit more tamed, more traction and of course you'll feel the torque pull u a lot more. Hope this helps guys
