Thumbs up [PICS] Matte Black Kidney Grilles Installed

Again, a huge shout out to bmroxm5 who drove over to mine yesterday evening to assist with the kidney grill swap and a headlamp change. Champion! If you guys ever need help with anything, Stu is a great guy.

So, here are the pics!

Right globe blew sometime late yesterday. First blow and it's nearly two years old so she did well! 53000km on the clock.

The warning signal for a blown globe is unmissable!

Hey Matty,

I withdrew my 1M deposit a couple of months ago. Bigger and better stuff planned for in a couple of years time which may include an Aussie first

Cheers,
Alex

Looking good Tay.
I think I hold the world record in time to change kidney grills. I can do it in under 20 seconds for both. Trick is both hands on one grill at a time and a solid yank and it's out.

Stu did exactly the same - popped 'em out, popped 'em in. Too easy!

They are a lot more solid than the OEM grilles.

Mine have foils on the vertical slats - kind of useless!

So no tools required? Just grab from the front and yank? I have mine arriving today and can't wait to get them installed! Any DIY pics etc would be awesome.

Only to take off the black cover that sits over the top of the grilles.

Also then remove the insulation rubber strip from the front of the engine bay.

And go for gold!

Hi Taymaishum,

Where did you get the black grills from? Are you happy with the quality?

Thought I'd resurrect an old thread rather than start another of my own

got a set of matte black grills - very pleased with result

The grills are identical replicas - down to number and position of slats, from ebay, $30 P&H and arrived in 5 days
