VAC Oil Pan Baffle

Is anyone else interested in a VAC N54 oil pan baffle? I'm looking at one because I do a lot of tracking. Maybe if we get enough peeps we can try do a group buy or at least share on shipping.

I think it can be an issue on any motor depending on lateral g forces (track, grip etc) but it's cheapish insurance. I believe the install is relatively straight forward however it does require some welding. Basically drop the oil, drop the sump pan, weld in the baffle, change the gasket (I'm assuming) and reinstall.

I think if you were on slicks and doing 62sec or 63sec at wakefield it would be worthwhile other wise don't bother.

The sump / oil pan is not to bad on this engine the pick up sits low in the sump, also the sump design does help to retain oil around the pick up.

If you are concerned, add another 500mil of oil or do it correctly and fit a oil accumulator along with twin oil coolers and large radiator.

In saying that, it still wouldn't do any harm.

i was thinking about it since it's all out already and 'i can'

so if better pricing or at least shipping could be had, count me in.

i haven't seen many, but there's been SOME videos of limp mode coming on around some sweeping right hand bends.

how does that help? (accumulator)

well that sounds pretty damn cool, another 'relatively cheap insurance' thing. ($500 odd including electric valve?)

if you guys are really tracking a lot and are running slicks - then oil pan baffles are really worth being installed! i had oil starvation on left hand bends with high lateral g force and the connecting rod bearings (between rods and crankshaft) cranked.
i put oil pan baffles and oil pressure gauge and waiting to the next track season. hope it will help.. if not - then oil accu has to be installed, but there is lack of space to set it..
also a major problem is to cool th n54 engine - additive larger oil cooler doesn't solve the problem - a large water radiator needs to be set instead of the oem one.
has anyone already been done with that on everyday car leaving air conditioner on its place?
