% discount obtained on new vehicle

Hi all,

Just new to the forum and looking to purchase a new 135i and negotiations will start this coming weekend.

I was hoping to gauge the % discount off RRP some recent buyers where able to obtain on their new car so that I have some informed basis to negotiate.

Thanks in advance - soon to be owner....

+1 on the floor stock or in-bond stock for discounts.

Bought my 2011 DCT auto 135i in February with Nav, Met paint & Sunroof for $79K......should have been $94K.

Car was 'in bond' and had about 15km's on the clock when i finally picked it up.

Floor stock is very open to discount, ordering from Germany production I doubt they will give you much.

Try find a new one which is floor stock rather than custom order. Near 30 June they should be open to a good discount

Edit: Manual transmission are also more difficult for dealers to sell, so autos will be less discounted.
Definitely +1 on this. Floor stock, especially if it's heavily optioned or getting on a bit, is ripe for some great bargains. Decide on your options and decide on what you would pay for it and stick to it.

+1 on this too. There are some great incentives on from manufactures and dealers alike to ensure they hit targets.

Here is the link to my 135i vert.
Cost just over $100k new and have many additional upgrades. I like to call the mods an upgrade. Everytime I go into my garage and see my stock intercooler I begin to think what the #%^* was BMW thinking. Uncompareable.

Thanks for the responses

Thanks to all for the responses. They fill me with some confidence that pretty good discounts are achievable. I am certainly looking at new or near new floor stock, and yes I am looking for a convertible. Obviously keen to get the spec I am after. I figure if I am shelling out this amount I should get what I want or very close at least.

I haven't owned a brand new car since 1989 !! so it is very appealing to pick the internal, external

Understand mate, the new car smell is awesome! Not to be a dick but do have a think about finding a second hand well looked after 135 vert that's already been modded. That new car smell is the most expensive fucking thing on earth!

You are right, and yes I am looking at used as well. It's not just the smell though, it's the pick of colours and upgrades as well. New gets me corporate program benefits as well. But I do have to be realistic and there is a limit on how much I can spend and whether new is worth it.

We'll see how much the dealers are willing to negotiate, if not much I will be forced to look at demos or good used.
Thanks

I bought my car through Private Fleet; new, on order from Germany. If you want the car brand-new with just those particular options important to you, this could be an option. I worked out I saved several thousand dollars. It was a smooth, hassle-free experience.

Good idea, I ran across their web site while researching. Will give them a go if my local dealer doesn't come to the party.

The way I figure it, I buy a new car maybe once every 6-10 years or so. I'm pitting my negotiating skills against people who do this for a living, maybe selling several cars a week. I wouldn't call myself a gun negotiator either. Brokers like Private Fleet can rock up to the fleet sales guy at a car dealer with a bunch of orders and wave them around temptingly. Also, these guys know the game, it's their day job. The pick up of my car was at the dealer, and the whole process was just as pleasant as if I had've paid full retail. Plus, Private Fleet picked up my trade at the BMW dealer.

Sorry to bring this slightly off track but what do you guys think is a decent price for a close to new 135i with dct, pro nav, sunroof and front parking sensors?

If it's not so expensive I would consider a trade in for my current 135i.

If it sells I'll get a coupe and start the mods all over again and yes of course JB will best tune of choice. Markets not the best anyway. I think people prefer to buy stock rather than modded. I know I would. I'm hooked on the N54 motor hard. It's an awesome engine.
