My first 1er was a black sapphire 2008 with coral red interior. Yours looks black sapphire as well, and not jet black, but can't tell for sure. Looks like you got the sport pkg too.

I thought "Year One Of The 1" was only 2008?

You can't tell the difference between BSM and JB until you get close in person. Also, I've seen the Year One of the 1 ring on quite a few 2009's. This is definitely not an isolated incident. It probably has something to do with build dates.

It almost looks like you can see some metallic particles on the passenger side of the hood where the sun is shinning on it. We'll see, if the OP gets back to us on the color. I could always see the metallic in my 2008 when I was coming up on it and could pretty much tell in pictures as well if they were at least kind of close up.

Yup, its an 09 with the sport package and since it was built in 08, it got the "Year of the One". The tradeoff is that the M-Sport package wasnt available at the time, so I went ahead and got the M door sills and footrest on my own. All I need is the anthracite headliner and wheels (though I'll probably just go with aftermarket wheels eventually)

I know this is going to sound bad, but I actually don't know yet if it's jet black or black sapphire.. I just assumed it was jet black because it seemed to match the description I read somewhere on here. I'll have to take a look at the paint code

Are there metallic flakes in the paint or is it just pure black?

Congratulations and welcome! The 135i is a fun car.

On the downside, seeing your pictures of the OEM paddle shifters reminded me of how much I hated those things and the push/pull operation. Glad I upgraded to E92 M3 paddles that provide for separate upshift and downshift functions. Fairly easy plug and play upgrade too.

Looks pure black to me.. Granted, I haven't done a thorough detailing yet.

Tell me about it; when I test drove it, I was so confused, I had to pull over and figure out how the hell to shift I may just go with a whole M3 steering wheel with the paddles.. not sure yet, I like the perforated leather..

That delicious, fat, chunky ///M steering wheel you have is pretty awesome. I wouldn't get rid of that. It's one of the best parts of the sport pkg.

I have the DCT with the proper paddle shifters and always drive in the manual mode, but I shift using the gear shift selector. Old habit from my manual transmission days, I guess. Old habits die hard.

Love, love, love my DCT, though. Wouldn't trade it for the world.

I agree. And if you get a set of M3 paddles they make it even better.
