Launch Control

I read, in some postings, that the 2012 135i w/DCT, does not have "Launch Control". Would someone clarify this?

I do not know if I would use it or not as I have trouble keeping traction with only the PPK1 installed. Such power these cars have.

LOVE IT

I would add an 8. Shift at 5k, 6k...

I was wondering can you do this in Auto with a DCT? Just wondering as I know it sort of defeats the purpose of "Launch Control".

Selecting M1 is part of the process of turning on launch control. As long as you keep the pedal floored, it will shift for you. I only used it once, I don't know if it shifts at redline like it normally does or if it is at 6500 where it is recommended to shift.

Thank you for the comment. I did not know that the car shifted automatically when in "Launch Control". I just some a road with some room on either side before I attempt this.

When you say "Select M1" do you mean move the gear select to the left and click the "-" paddle or just leave it in "Drive" and downshift with the paddle?

Find a road with room. I tried it the first time on a dead end street. It's pretty violent but a load of fun.

You need to engage the "S" mode on the DCT, The paddles do not do that. Therefore, move shift lever to left and then use shift lever to select M1.
