For the record, I wrote that WHILE working, so was making money while I wrote it. Probably made about $1.37 while I did it. Gotta pay for those sexy brake rotors one way or another.

I still fail to realize who has the fake 135is on here. Or maybe that's a joke I'm missing?
And I checked out the thread y'all are talking about. Hilarious.

Unrelated: I just read through that 1M Salvage title thread and oh my goodness, what a riot. I should visit the 1M forums more often!

I have to say that I love how this thread has turned out and the personalities that are on display. Very mutually respectful, fun, and epitomizing what I like about forums with none of the crap that I don't like. Quote:
As for my car, I'm enjoying the non-runflat winters, and I'll be looking to get non-runflat summers in the Spring. Found out my dealership works with a great wheel repair place that often does the newer BMW "machined" wheels, so I'll be set to get rid of my curbing in the Spring as well. Just hit 13k miles and, crap, it's one year old!!!!!! Totally forgot. What a bad owner I am! It was BORN 11/1 (according to Bama and his data), and I think I picked it up right around now. Also - my pictures don't work anymore because photobucket is an idiot. I moved them into a more organized folder, and now they don't work. All the more reason to post them up again! So here goes: Here's the 135is I test drove that hooked me: Delivered to the dealership! Pickup day 12/2012! First cold start! Tint (50%) Winters (17s): Perf. Diffuser: Track day! Adding HP ('bout 23HP per sticker) And how she sat this fall: I have to say it's been a fun year with this thing. It does annoy me at times with rattles and buzzes in the interior, but it wraps around me perfectly and wows me when I hit the go-pedal. It's a car that lived up to what I thought I was buying. It surprised me in a couple of ways, especially on the track -- I wasn't sure how fun it'd be out there with all of the plow, but I had a friggin' blast (and so did my instructors while they were with me). The car is much less of a cruiser than my previous E46 -- it's less smooth, less refined, and frankly, it isn't put together quite as well. But it retains the sportiness of the E46 in spades. No regrets on color combo whatsoever. And no real plans for future mods or changes. If BMW makes the LSD available, I might go for it. So I guess that means this thread is about a year old, too. Thanks to all who have contributed and formed this little community inside the 1er family.

I'm glad you mentioned the rattles and buzzes. I have a buzzing sound in all gears b/w 2500 - 3000 rpms when I'm accelerating. I can't quite pinpoint where the buzzing is coming from. If I had to guess, I'd say it was behind me. But I haven't had the chance to get someone else in the car to help me pinpoint the location. Anyway, has anyone else experienced this buzzing sound at approx. 2500 - 3000 rpm upon acceleration? It goes away as soon as I shift gears and then returns promptly at around 2500 again. TIA.

mb135is - thanks for posting all those and appreciate your feedback as seemingly the senior most 135is owner on here. What's funny is, while it's not as refined or as nice as other cars, on some level I find that endearing as it's just a raw lil unusual brute that's borderline crazy. Sure, other cars might be better looking, or have better interiors, or higher quality materials, but I just love the FEEL of driving this car and it's very hard to articulate exactly why or what it is exactly. My 2 cents. And now you'll inspire owen to place all of his multi-language stickers, or probably just the german one somewhere.
Only minor things I'm considering on mine are maybe the bmw performance brake rotors just cause I like the looks and blame owen, and perhaps the m3 subframe bushings upgrade. If anyone has had that done, would love to hear some firsthand feedback and experience as it is not cheap in labor to install $160 in bushings. |

mb135is - nice to see your pics again, and I never get tired of seeing the gray with coral red combo. Looks very nice! (I know gregthegr8 didn't have the stomach to try the red, but I think he secretly drools every time he sees your interior...).
Sorry if I missed it originally, but what is the story behind all of the multi-language PPK stickers? How did you acquire those? |

I think I can sum up the story of the multi-language stickers and beat him to his own punch. His didn't have the white PPK sticker, so his dealer was able to order it for him but apparently it comes as a sheet with 6 different languages. Owen now has the same sheet since he didn't have the white sticker either. mb135is was intent on placing all of them though throughout the car. Also if you're interested, check the how many 135is built thread as owen posted all the part numbers for the various PPK stickers and PPK "badge." |

Thanks for the tip - I somehow missed the flurry of activity on that sticky thread a few days ago. Then again, should I really be thanking you for costing me $26....or $28 if I decide to splurge?? I do like that M Performance badge. But $14 to ship would be ridiculous.

Shipping is "only" $7.76 at ECS. We can get up to 20 PPK badges shipped to a single address for only $7.76 total. If one member ordered badges for 5 members, the cost at ECS would "only" be $30 each, including shipping. That's not terrible. Basically a savings of a bit over $6 each. Plus, if we had a large enough order, maybe we could get ECS to knock 5% or 10% off the price?

What's the part # for the Chunner M Performance Badge of Honor? Can't find that. Guess shipping is cheaper for you since you're closer to ECS in Ohio. Shipping might be dirt cheap to Rick then! |

None of the main BMW parts dealers show a stock photo. I did a bunch of searching and came across that number. If anyone knows differently, please share. I was just going to call prior to placing the order and ensure it's the correct badge.

Also, all this talk of badges keeps making me think of this scene from bad boys starting at about 1:08. Has some bad language, but darn it, why can't we buy badges from him for $0.99? Sure, we have to account for inflation, but still. Last edited by gregthegr8; 12-09-2013 at 07:08 PM.. |
