Glad I stopped by here - I didn't realize I shouldn't be posting mods on here unless they are expensive - what is the cutoff dollar amount for posting mods?

I'm off to delete the list of mods from my signature, as they were mostly free or very inexpensive; after all we know the reason I have a 128i is because I cannot afford an actual BMW.

That's not the point, minor tweaks here and there are mostly applauded around the forum. Many people on the forum do not care whether you drive a 128i or a 135i both models are very much welcomed.

What would you suggest? Preferably something that would not void my warranty.

Wish I knew! Nothing out of my league, which is about everything unfortunately. "Spray paint" I can handle, but things that require me to take my car apart or potentially void my warranty I cannot.

Thank you! I cannot get enough of this car.

You are right about the LCIs, they are gorgeous tail lights to begin with. I was motivated to tint the clear strip by amg135i's car: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=705110

When I saw that black strip I thought it was sick too, gotta ask him how he did it.

Congrats on the car, you must be loving it! And dont worry about the tails, a perfect excuse to get some shadowline LCI's.

Alright, thank you! I guess I should have also asked for ease of installation for each thing as well since I am not willing to, and not confident I can, take my car apart beyond simple tasks like accessing visible areas and taking screws/clips off.

-I am certainly considering the angel eyes. Is this the correct product: http://www.**********s.com/GP-Thunde...BMW-Models.htm. Also any opinion on the kelvin rating (8500 v 7500)?

-any spacer recommendations as well?

Thank you! The shadowline LCIs are definitely awesome, but fortunately I was able to polish out the original mess I made on my stock LCIs

Kudos for doing it yourself - I think the final product turned out just fine! Looks to me like you did it in the bath tub.

It always starts with simple mods like this to personalize and suit your tastes...things will sprial from there and soon it becomes a sickness (a good one IMO)!

Welcome to the forums and good luck with your ride.

I appreciate the encouraging words Gimlet. You are correct, it was the bathtub! Nice eye. Do you have a thread for your car? I haven't stumbled upon it yet.

It certainly is addictive to say the least. I'm always looking for new ideas on the forums. Not to mention I've never spent so much time on a car wash or scanning my paint for bugs.

7500 seems the better match for your xenons.

I would pay for someone to do the suspension and tint. The rest is easy and you can just follow the DIY's

http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=208905

Velocity spacers are great and affordable. 12mm will not rub on stock, even with a drop and make the car look so good. Make sure to get the extended lugs:

I haven't made a new thread or taken any pics in quite some time...I need to soon. The most recent shots:

Modding should be all about what suits your own tastes and what you plan on using the car for, not just a popularity contest. There are plenty of budget-friendly things you can do just as there are those that require deeper pockets. Do lots of research and don't be afraid to get your hands dirty and ask for help if needed. Most of all just enjoy the hell out of the car, and try hard to keep her clean.

Not everyone here is as much of a dick as Mtek

I think the blacked out clear portion looks pretty good, so do the kidneys for being almost free. I would consider lowering springs or coilovers if you can afford them. Install will run you about 400 including a new alignment. Also maybe consider a set of wheels in the future(most people on this forum are cheapos and go with the 1000 dollar per set replica wheels so you will fit in fine going with a cheap set...just pick one that you like)

Anyways, welcome to the forum!

Thanks for taking the time to help MteK! Any mods under $100 and I am certainly in. I like that the velocity spacers are black even though they will be hidden behind my wheels. I watched a few videos on spacer installation and that is definitely something I can handle. I just hope to find a way to lift my car so I don't have to do one wheel at a time.

Also, I will definitely get tint/suspension done professionally.

Those shots by Neil Prasad are jaw dropping. Thank you for sharing. If I could ever afford it, I would buy your rims in an instant.

I definitely agree about modding for personal enjoyment, and although it is clearly not to everyone's taste, I like my spray paint mods! I'm excited about the angel eyes and spacers MteK has recommended. It's always nice to have something in the works.
