It's very expensive to get significant weight out of the car... I'll have to pick and choose. Since this is part of the rotating mass I think I will give priority to this piece.

The priority will probably be a GT style CF bonnet/hood to get heat out of the engine bay, then the rotating assembly or unsprung weight.
I have the V2 shaft on my 1M, IIRC weight drop was around 12lb when I measured it. Quite noticeable improvement in responsiveness and smoothness much like what PRTSB1M observed.

The V2 shafts were actually manufactured by YFCM for YCW/MFactory, YCW no longer offers the V2 shaft due to a falling out between the two companies. Their latest is the V3 however IMO they're inferior as it lacks the YFCM patented interlocking flange, has lower grade finishes, and have quality issues as detailed in several threads on M3post.

YFCM V2 shaft is still available, if you google "YFCM E82" it'll come up.

Nice to know, thanks! This build is a money pit... lol.

In the meantime I'm getting the chassis setup now and want to get a bunch of seat time before moving on.

I haven't updated this build thread in a while.

Installation is all done and now it's just about seat time. It's only seen spirited mountain and coastal twisties so far and will hit the track asap.

With the basic track day type mods I've put on so far, the car weighs 1433kg with a full tank of gas and no driver.

The ride height and alignment was set on the E88 wheels. When putting the taller OEM wheels back on for the street the rear wheels gets quite tucked. However, there's actually no rubbing issues.
