RE-71r's.....square

I'm about 500 hard canyon miles into a set RE-71's and I would like to say that I highly recommend going with a 265/35 square set up if you are looking for an affordable street tire set up. They stick like glue with a relatively low amount of heat and are far more predictable than than my psc's. I think I may just found the perfect street tire. They've held up pretty well considering that I usually run through tires in 1500 miles.

There's a slight rub at full lock, but I'm still using the original fender liners, I'm petty people running the newer liners wouldn't have an issue.

Have you had a chance to try them in the rain? I have heard that these are ideal autox tires but will overheat during a 20-30 min track session.

If you count 4 hours of walking paced gridlock pain I just suffered through on my way to the airport this morning as driving, then yes, I've tried them in the rain. They did hold up at the license losing speed I was traveling on a rather damp 605 fwy to make my flight.

What are the details on your front wheels and suspension that you were able to pack 265s without rubbing.

I've got camber plates, bimmerworld spherical front race arm conversion, and I'm sitting somewhere between a half inch to an inch lower than stock. I can't tell you the specific alignment because I don't remember what is. The wheels are stock

Sorry, didn't catch whether these are 18s or 19s and how wide were the stock wheels?

They're mounted on the stock 19" wheels.

265's will side right on to the stock front wheels. I can't comment about rubbing issues on the stock suspension because I am far from stock.
