We have one, and it is not public, because of decisions on how to use it.

If you look at those dates tho... amazing. No holiday weekends or large gaps. Basically, I submitted our dream list and it got accepted!

Back in the day, I took the EVO 1 school, and went from getting 3rd or 4th place, to consistently coming in first. You get taught by groups of national champions.

I've since taken the EVO 1, 2, 3, and Challenge School numerous times. It's good stuff. Sign up for the EVO schools is on our chapter website. It is NOT cheap tho, but I felt I got my $$ worth out of it.

You guys are pretty lucky tho.. there are a handful of Nat Champs who instruct with us, and are regulars.

It helps that we are their biggest customer of the base for autocross.. the most dates, and the most amount of participants at the events. Since they charge by the number of participants (base amount, plus number of participants over that base amount), they do better with us than with any other club.

My pops wants to come up again next year and run with us. So I was wondering if it would be more fun than autocross and also if you can share a car at it?

I did the EVO phase I this past year and found it good. A big benefit is that you get a lot of seat time and a lot of driving without large gaps between runs. This let's you really try to understand what's you are doing right/wrong.

One downside to phase I is the the course is short, lower speed, and more technical. It may not be a downside from a learning perspective, but isn't quite as fun as a longer, higher speed course.

The cost is high, and probably for on a fun/dollar basis, the normal autocross schools may be a better deal.

Rachel did a couple this past year, so maybe she can weigh in as well.

Unless he plans on getting into the sport more regularly, the chapter AX School will suffice for him, in my opinion.

You can have dual drivers for EVO, since there are work/run sessions for that as well. You'd be on opposite sides of the Work/Run groups.

Thanks for the input! I reckon autocross or autocross school will be just fine.

I did Phase I and II. Phase II I found the most helpful. Really stressing looking ahead, and actually figuring out where you are going. Only downside was Steve Hazard opening the passenger door in the middle of a slalom...

I agree with Larry. If you are looking for getting seat time with your dad, just plan it around one of the chapter's schools. If he's planning on getting more serious about running in more events, he, like you will benefit from the Evo school.

The way that the Evo school is set up, each lower level class is a prerequisite for the next level of class. So, expect to start in Phase 1. The phase 1 class is fun but you will learn more from phase 2. You definitely get a lot of seat time, definitely more than I got at the last chapter school day.
