Z4 M power seat retrofit?

I want more sporty feeling seats but cant justify spending $4000.00 on the BMW P seats. My friend has a Z4 M Coupe and the seats feel awesome and look great. I was thinking of retrofiting Z4 M seats. I am curious though about the power seats though as my car has manual seats. I dont think the Z4 M come in manual, and with no side airbag I think the light will come on, until I figure that out. Sorry I am kind of ranting but what do you guys think?

They have them for sale every so often at Zpost or ebay or whatnot.

Well because I keep finding them for like $1500.00 each. There are some on Froogle that chagre like $1100.00/ea but the sites are not known to me. Plus I kind of want all leather. If I get alcantara I would beel weird with the rear seats not being alcantara.

Here is a link to them from Vivid,

And about 30lbs lighter on the Sportster CS. BMW Performance seats don't shed any weight.

We're an authorized Recaro dealer.

They do not, the stock seats house an airbag system as well as an OC3 occupancy sensor mat, different than MZ4 models.

Depends - what specific Recaros are you looking into? Fixed back or reclining?

Sell your sport seats for $2k, then upgrade to the Perf seats for just $2k out of pocket...

Would someone really buy sport seats for near that? Mine are base, no leather, power, or heat.

Probably not - I've seen power/heated/leather sport seats go for around $1k apiece for many BMW models.

Maybe yours would go for $5-600 apiece - I'd put them on classifieds on all the 1 forums and see what happens.

Just curious but do you use the back seats? Wondering how you would get to the back with Z4 seats.

Good point, the z4 seats don't fold forward, do they?

They will move forward but will not lean forward. I think 90 degrees straight up is the max they will lean.

I thought about that at first. My friend has an M coupe, and I tested it in his car, the fold foward more than 90 degrees, and move up far enough to fit someone in the back. It may be tight but is for sure do able.
