I really wish BMW brought the tii concept to the Detroit!
I didn't think the Sedona looked horrible in person. It looked like a frosted strawberry smoothie [like a color on the 1g Neon]. That said, it's not for me! I think Alpine White is HOTTTT!

I'm sure Sedona Red is gonna look great in normal sunlight, as opposed to washed out in Auto Show Floor lighting.

I took the risk on Sedona and am so happy that it will be "uniqueish" on the road. (I say that because I saw one drive past me yesterday and it is just around the corner from where I live, so I will have a Sedona neighbour)

Well, I must say I was very disappointed that BMW did not allow people to sit in any of the 1 series cars they have at the Auto show. I don't know whether it was the lights or what, but the sedona red does this car no favors! The Alpine White convertible looked gorgeous! Well - soon the dealers will have demos and I can not just sit in it but also drive it before mine comes in.

What were you overall impressions of the car itself (minus the color of course)? |

Some have suggested that the Jet Black hides the car's body lines. Some of us disagree with that, and think it actually accentuates the body lines and adds a depth that no other color can achieve. What it does, however, is to reduce the contrast levels between the body color and some of the black trim. Some really like that blending effect and some don't. It's a personal preference. Bottom line... There is no right or wrong when it comes to color... so, you'll ultimately be fine... it's all about the drive! TagMan |

Aren't the wheels supposed to have M-badges?

I hear ya! I don't want them either. The weight of these plastic parts is likely only a couple ounces though. I just don't want blue washer fluid on my white hood, if I need to clean the windshield.

No, I believe only the 261 style rims have the M-Badge. The stadard rims do not have the M-badge and in the US they do not appear to change the rims for your sport pack as they do in the rest of the world.
