If you have the opportunity to drive it, I would go for it.

The problem is also to get some decent pair of winter shoes on this athlete. Apparently the 270M OEM look ridiculous specially without spacer.

i cant find any tires here in the U.S that fit the competition rims. gonna have to find a pair of 18's

i've seen most people are getting 18" set ups for E9x M3s since the wheel specs are identical

Really? In Switzerland we have the Michelin Pilot Alpin PA2 available and a couple of others? If it's only for cold weather this could be okay. But if you will drive on snow it's better to go for a more narrow setup. Official BMW setup is a square setup 235 width on 18" 270M wheels. I was about to get some VMR 710 in 18" instead but there are out of stock. So now I'm struggling to find a decent price for the 270M.

If you disconnect the battery and close the trunk, will the trunk lock and leave you with no access to the trunk?

If so, I think if you leave the rear seats down, you can open the trunk with the mafia handle.

-add fuel stabilizer
-smart trickle charge the battery
-add a few psi to the tires (can anyone suggest how high i sould go?)
-crack one of the windows

Same here. This car was meant to be driven not be a garage queen. All joking aside I am going to drive it this winter but understand why others would not as I never drove my M Roadster in the winter.

Right now I have AW selected however I have about one and half weeks left to change my pick and I am really leaning towards VO. I love the look of the VO just worry about the perception of a 45 year old driving such a car and the middle age crisis comments. Mind you who cares as I will be driving a kick ass car!

Which color did you pick? I wish that I could leave mine in the garage all winter but it is not economically feasible for me at this point.

Does anyone have a suggestion regarding the parking brake?

I've heard that i should leave the car in neutral and keep the hand brake down to prevent it siezing and to stop the car from moving I should just block up the wheels.

That is what I do. Neutral with parking brake off and chock the wheels.

I was considering putting it on dollies so I can move it around if needed.

I think you should still leave the car in gear..

Any reason or just cuz? Garage is flat, so zero chance of it rolling anywhere, especially if its on dollies.

I have never left in gear before when storing other cars, my thought is to not have any load/stress on any components (parking brakes, gears, etc).

My service guy is telling me NOT to remove the battery but rather trickle charge while in the car. He says if you remove the battery all the computers and various electronics will have to be reset and its a big deal. True or False?

Place a towel along the sill and set the trunk lid down on it. It will remain closed, but not latched, and there is no way to accidentally get it to latch. You may also want to drop a seat too.

If you have power available, put it on the trickle charger. I pull the battery out of my 330 as it is stored where there is no power available. I have not had any issues with that car by pulling the power, but with the ever increasing electronics in the new ones, who knows.
