hmm.... looks like a drop may be out of the question...

i think i'm gonna remove the plastic flaps but i'm concerned that the kw v2 or v3s i was considering may not play nicely w/ my driveway.

my driveway is shaped like a checkmark. the pictures are taken at the lowest point where my wheels are at the bottom of the "V". i'm going straight in, not an angle. i haven't tried angling in. i'm not sure if my garage is wide enough to make that feasible. i'll have to see.

eh, just remove the flap, you have a room for a good 1 &1/2 inch drop.

Set 2 wooden planks to match up with your wheels and it should give you clearance. Thats what I did.

I may have the worst driveway known to man and I know my car stock is lower than a 1 series.

Plan B would involve a bag of cement and a day when she's out of the house.

^

that might be a solution, if you put a 2-3" hollow steel tube inside, and pour cement over it, as not to obstruct the flow of rain water.

The problem appears to be where his driveway ramps up to the garage not where it meets the street (you can see the garage in the photo). He should be fine and may not need the pipe (though that depends on the drainage around the garage)

Now, if it is at the street it's completely different and the city would throw a fit.

I wouldn't screw with those flaps if I were you. I'm betting they're there to correct some kind of airflow problem.

F-Bodies and Corvettes have a flap like that under them. It's not exactly the same application because those don't really have a grill, but if you remove it they will run hot, and even overheat.

I'm just betting BMW didn't stick those on there without a good reason.

Those flaps do indeed control airflow at higher speeds.

Maybe you should think about purchasing a new house to better accommodate your 1er.
