acids are better used on the barrels than on the faces....and only when the sonax/P21S/diablo dont work...

i have done wheels where those gel wheel cleaners didnt work at all, but the megs wheel brightener worked like a charm.

there is a place for both!

I just bought and tried this "Sonax - full effect" wheel cleaner. Maybe I was expecting too much... but I'd rate it a B-minus. I actually prefer my old P21S gel wheel cleaner. Seems to do a better job, I think. This Sonax stuff rates a good 2nd choice though. Just IMHO. The wierd thing was it wasn't green like in the photos. But it did turn red after a few moments working on the brake dust. For me its P21S gel all the way!

hmm strange did you leave it alone for 5-7 minutes before doing anything with it, you are suppose to let it work in before so.... possible that you picked up something different are you in Germany or the US?

I am in Germany, but I am an American.

The stuff I bought is: Sonax "Extreme Felgenreiniger(wheel cleaner) Full Effect", product number #230 200 Comes in a silver box with a sponge brush.

Yes, I sprayed it on the wheels dry and let it stand for eight minutes, then washed it off with a high pressure power washer. It did change color to the burnt red color. I don't remember it being green though.

I have to clean my wheels tomorrow, I will try it again. Like I said it did a decent job of getting all the brake crud off. I normally wash my car weekly. My wheels get covered with brake dust bc of Autobahn speeds.

If you need to agitate with a brush, what's the point? Brake dust is never hard to get off if you're going to rub something against the wheel. Anyone applied this WITHOUT agitation? How did it work out?

Exactly, A rag and some soapy water and my brake dust comes right off but then again my wheels are washed weekly. Now if you sprayed this stuff on and it all came off with a garden hose that would be another story.

But for a wheel cleaner it did do a nice job.

Well the video just picks up from when it's being washed off. But if you didn't agitate in that video then that's great

Don't get me wrong, wheel cleaners do work well even just by spraying off with a hose or pressure washer. I was just curious as to what the results would be with Sonax if there was no agitation (so as to compare with other cleaners). This stuff looks really good, I got nothing against it
