E90 Performance after CIP 20 upgrade

I don't know if it's only me but I'd like to find out if others are noticing what I've noticed on my E90 after getting the CIP 20 software upgrade on my car.
I've noticed that now when step on it the car is less aggressive . At When the pedal is to the metal, and shifting between 2nd and 3rd and 3rd and 4th I've noticed that the pull is not the same as before I took the car in for service. Does anyone have any *real and reasonable* explanation for this? Is it just me?

Performance wise, my car feels the same. I don't know what version I had before, but I'm guessing it was the very first version that shipped with the E90's. However, since having the car updated I have noticed that the transmission is smoother and DS and M modes seem to shift a bit quicker.

That said, I was reading a post over at E60.net and one member noted that his drag times were higher by about 0.5 sec (IIRC). So maybe it's possible.

Hi Magamaga:

I don't think it is your imagination. The shift from 1-2 also is affected. You may want to check this thread from e60.net out.

Best,

Znod

Sheesh, when did this CIP 20 come out? I hope the one I got 2-3 months ago wasn't it.

I sorta think my car's been a bit more sluggish but who knows it could be in my head.

Funny (interesting) thread. Some 20 upgraders post of better performance in as much as smoother step gear changes etc. Nothing about reduced accelleration.

Did your dealer tell you exactly what they have done with the upgrade?

I hope you sort out this problem

All the best

Ech, I just got my car back tonight from my CIP20 update. I was driving an ES330 loaner for 2 days, so my car feels too fast to handle right now, haha. I'll give it a good run tomorrow and see how it feels.

Yea, I pointed him over here as I did not feel it was my place to jump in as I do not have the new software yet and have no data to contribute to the discussion other than others experience. Better to get from horses....mouth

I'm back at USA and going to my dealer today to get a day for an update. I hope I won't be having any future software problems...

I actually am thinking of the new M3. I talk about an M5, but I like V-8's. The new M3 should be great fun. Would that count?

Has anyone else here had this situation ? Do I have to drive like a maniac for the rest of the week to have this car learn that I drive fast and want it accelerate fast when I press the pedal half way down?
You are very welcome. I have been driving manically; no luck so far. How did BMW know to call you? I have a service appointment scheduled.

There is no hurry unless you have a significant problem. I recommend waiting for a while.

Most certainly! We even have a whole section dedicated to the M3.

I have an April/05 build 325i and just had all of the updates installed last week. Everything has been great, especially the new bluetooth volume levels.

However, it seems that when I am flooring it and shift to 2nd or 3rd the car hesitates for a second then goes. As in the rpm just slowly climbs and then takes off. It is quite annoying.

Is that what others are seeing?

You must always rate a 5 on the scale of 1 to 5. If not you will experience horrible service at your service center, since the rating you give is directly reported to them.

Even if they total your car, rate it 5.

Had mine done in November.
Have the same issue.
Thought it was just me.
Hmmm...

Now, this sounds fishy. If people who drive 5 series and others who drive 3 series get the same update and report the same performance degradation, shouldn't BMW know about this by now. Do we need a recall?
