thank guys, as you have all said, it was worth the wait! it is really something. haven't put my finger on the pulse yet but first impression, it's definitely too good a car for its owner but i will give it a good crack.

i may take it out to cheer myself up after watching the cockroaches wither away again in the second half

John, I was quite lost actually trying to feather the new clutch but after a while decided to give it a normal go. Didn't get much of a drive from dealer-office but had a good go from office to gym after work and Ian, I'm definitely addicted!!

Congrats Jaffa, bet it's putting a smile on your face!
A cheer up is much needed after tonight's game, at least it wasn't an embarrassing performance.

first drive in my own M after 4 years!!

So I took the M out for a first quick run along the Old Pacific Highway,

The chassic feels tight and sharp allowing me to feel what's going on and it somehow feels like it just wants to go faster and faster. I love the feedback, how I could feel most bumps, cracks and ruts in the road coming through the crispy steering. Result, point it and the M goes along. It is definitely a step up from the E46M and given it has the E9XM3 bin parts, I shouldn't have been surprised but I was and I love it!!

The engine purrs along, revving effortlessly and agging me to give a bit more. The exhaust notes rumble the car interior. It is nice. Drone, I didn't hear any but just nice engine and exhaust notes. I can imagine how sweet the Akra, Remus etc would sound! The gear box and clutch play are somewhat clunky and noisy. If this is a lasting characteristic of the M, then it's something I need to get used to, and the ratios.

The interior is bland, some has claimed. I found it simplistically functional. No fuss. In the dark of the OPH, the coloured ambience is calming. New car smell, I wish I could bottle it up!

WOW! is my first overall impression.

That said, taking a 1M for a first run after delivery in the utter darkness of the OPH was perhaps not a clever move. There were a few hairy moments when corners came on faster than they should, or at least I thought they ought to. I came out unscathed but I think I was rather fortunate Lesson learnt.

On the way back, I was tailgated by a Skyline GTS but sitting amongst the low rumble, I felt an unusual calm that there is nothing I need to prove. Must remember this in days to come. Lesson learnt.

First 24 hours and I love my BMW again

I have 2 cars to come. So I'll leave the mods to Ian and yourself and when you wish to remind yourself of the stock looks, just look over at mine

I wish Joe, I wish . With the amount of raving articles and videos that I have put in front of my CFO, she once asked me nicely why I think I need to improve the car beyond its capability out of the box and why I need more from it. Based on my drive last night, she may well be right, for now! But I can be tempted by your car!,

My car finished production on the 8th of May and it still hasn't shown up on the WW tracking, how long should this take? Also, why do people blank out their VIN when they upload screenshots of their order or shipping details, is there something that crooks can do with VINs?

Cheers
Toby
