Sport seats in non-sport car, wired side bolsters today
So first to give credit where it's due- I followed mike-y's instructions exactly, seen here http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=229396, and after doing so, my manual leatherette sport seats that I retrofitted into my non-sport 135i now have power bolsters!!!
And I now see why these seats are sooo crucial. I knew they were great before this but now they totally change the entire driving dynamic of the car. It feels much more confident in hard and fast corners, god I love this car all over again. This will make my coming BMW performance suspension all the better. Pics- for the most part, the respective parts of the two cars are identical. Just wanted to let others in the same stock setup know that sport seats with power bolsters are definitely do-able in a non-sport car!

Looks good, but I would use an 'Add a Circuit' instead of just jamming the wire into the fuse panel like that. It turns one fuse slot into two, with a pigtail connector for the new circuit. Much cleaner install, much safer too. They are available in mini and regular size - at your local auto parts or accessories store.

If only we could inflate the lateral bolsters that hug your legs to be as aggressive as the hip bolsters.

Where did you get your sport seats? Are the 3 series sport seats identical to the ones in the 1 series? I really want to do this to my car, but I can't find Coral Seats anywhere.

I got mine from a member on here back in november, the e92 coupe are very similar, but not sure if they are identical- especially if they have the power- easy access for the rear

Bump on an old thread. Can anyone chime in? I have non-sport powered & heated seats and I want to buy my friend's sport / powered / heated seats from an e92. Would I run into any problems? Any extra work required?

e9x seats should fit in your 1er no problem from what i've read/seen. The 1er got parts bin seats from the 3 series. Always worth test fitting just in case though!

leather may or may not be different, i have no idea in that regard, but as for mounting points i think they are identical. I've read that the seat belt mounting locations are different on e92 than on e90 so i'm not 100% positive.

Has anyone been able to confirm if E92 sport seats would bolt up in an E82?

I have standard power seats with memory and heat. I just bought sport power seats with memory and heat. I think it should be plug and play, but I'm not sure about the side bolsters. Are they plug and play since the seat already has power? Or do I need new wires for the side bolsters?

E92 ///M3 seats are a direct plug and play into the e82. Need to code the seat occupancy sensors but everything works perfectly!
