A bike hit my car.....

I was waiting for a traffic light on my way to my class, and a women riding a bicycle from other direction ran though the red light, hit a pedestrian, hit my car, and finally landed on my hood....

After this happened she said "sorry" and ran away.... but I was able to get her back and look at the damage on my car, and make her leave her contact information. And about 30 mins later I went to a police station to file a report, and they said they couldn't do it since I didn't call them when this happened...

And later in the afternoon I called her, and tell her that I am going to get an estimation on the damage, but I after I sent her the estimation she never pick up the phone again...

Ok, after the long story, my question is Is there anyway I can make her pay it if she never pick up her phone again?

Go thru your insurance and give them all the info you have - and get ready to pay.

Next time call the police right then and there. The cops could have gotten her (maybe?) for trying to flee the scene. Not now though.

so my only hope is hoping she is kind enough to pay for it?
does it help if I know where she lives? (found her dorm room by the database of the University)

No, as a matter of fact if you confront her she could potentially press charges for stalking. There isn't really much you can do know other than fix it yourself or let insurance kick in.

If pressed into a corner, people like that (avoidance, morality problems, whatever the case) a lot of times have no problem turning the story around to you, the auto driver, being at fault for her, the innocent pedestrian/bike rider's situation; and in that situation, the odds can turn against you quickly.

You're in a sort of Catch 22 situation: I would suggest discussing this with your insurance and putting this behind you regardless of their decision to pay/not pay and forget about contacting her in person, etc.

Really? Dallas Police won't respond to a traffic incident unless someone is hurt or an immobile vehicle is blocking a major road. This is true for most major cities too.

File on your insurance, you don't have much recourse on the lady. You could take her to small claims court, but your insurance should have a no-fault limit that you're likely under anyway.

Well if someone hits my car, either someone is hurt, or going to be hurt.

Lol the police took 22 minutes to get to me in the last accident I was involved in. While my car was facing incoming traffic. Bike riding bitch would have been long gone before the cops could come to OP's help.

You know where she lives... police won't help you... I don't condone law-breaking but if she's a big enough bitch to damage your car and refuse to own up to it, then you know what to do

Yep, the Police in my area wont respond to an accident like this...so the only thing you could have done was obtain her name and address. I think your only recourse is small claims court which will cost you more if you lose, and the damage is probably less than your deductible.

Sounds like you've got a good attitude about it. In a crap situation, that's a good attribute to have.

So the "bike girl" sent me an email today and verify the damage on my car, and told me she is going to use her insurance.

Maybe there is still hope !!

man, at least i'm not the only one with bad luck. i bought my car on 09/24/2011 and on 10/20/2011 got back up into at a BECU parking lot which messed up my driver fender, rim, and front bumper and rim . THEN i got my car back last week on thursday and got rear ended on 11/09/2011 which smashed up my rear bumper pushed me to the curb and messed up my Passenger rim this time . My first ever accidents happened within not even 45 days of having the car. such epic FAIL.
