A test of four "sedans" that includes only one true sedan (Evo)!!! Very amusing.
This would also have to be the first time I've heard of rear-wheel drive being considered a "disadvantage" in a sports car. Frankly, that was precisely what I was looking for in the 135i!

Thats a bit harsh... even TGA struggles to be as woeful as that review.
At least they know a sedan when they see one. |

And they have the audacity to complain about the interior quality of the 1. What the hell. Those other 3 are far inferior to the 1 in this respect.
I have just stepped out of a brand new A4 (the new shape). Now Audi has long been considered a benchmark for interior quality, but I was seriously unimpressed by the quality and finish of the new A4. They have really pulled a blindfold over motoring jurnos who still claim it's top of the class. It's NOT. It didnt have the build and hefty feel of a real german car. I however have no real complaints about the 1 interior so far, other then the cheaper plastic covering the lower part of the dash. But it blends so seamlessly with the higher quality uppder dash, unless you went knocking around, you wouldnt even notice it. I really like the interior of the 1. It feels great is most respects. Theres a real quailty to its build and finish. |

i get the feeling that there has been so much good stuff already said about the 1er and that it is agreed generally that it is a great car, that auto writers are trying to come up with some thing different about the 135i, some kind of criticism to bring the car back to its class level. However all the reviews end the same, its a beast!

I own a VW R32 and 135 and the std 135 is no match for my modded R. Until I finish the 135 mods of course ...the R32 is a better every day drive no matter what the conditions.
But they both have a very different character...and each to their own....nice to have a choice. |

Prof, you have both the R32 and 135i too so would love to hear your opinion. 135i2, what mods have you done to the R to make it better than the 135i? I am a fan of the R, but it is so much slower than the 135i!

technically my better-99%'s car, not mine. i enjoy driving it though. the dsg is a technical marvel, but its annoying in anything but flappy-paddle mode (hangs on too long to the gear in S and changes up far too quickly in D). the best part is the launch control. consistent clean starts. it generally drives very well with the ESP off (haldex really does work) and it makes a glorious sound (like a baby version of your c63 - yes, that good).

Last year I nearly bought the R32 (wanted 4 doors) but the interior is so poor and the lack of turbo (to expensive to get any real gains) turned me off. I love the exterior looks and the sound though..
I wonder how much cash would be needed to mod a R32 so it could keep up with Kris's JB3'd 135))) |

i ve read quite alot of reviews in which the slowest car wins because the auther is trying to make some kind of point. i tend to ignore those reviews. i'm gunna ignore this review as well.
wheels magazine compared the r32 and the sti a few months back and the r32 was left behind big time. |
