The old and the new
Just thought I'd share a pic of my 135i and a 2002tii taken on a BMW track day yesterday at Barbagallo Raceway, WA.
There were some other very nice Alpinas as well as E46 and E92 M3s.

Boy...Looking at that was really dejavu for me.
Dug out my old photos and this was my new 2002 and first BMW that I bought (well, lets just say a long time ago). Believe or not, I got it to try and keep my licence after collecting 8 demerit points in a GT Falcon in 7 days (only allowed 9 in those days) but that's another story. |

Odd story with my 2002. I had a steering wobble at about 100kph and BMW could not work out what it was.
Tyres were changed, wheels were balanced and rebalanced etc etc. It went back time and time again to the point they got so desperate, BMW put a shock absorber on the steering in the hope that it would shaking. They even had one on BMW's own engineers who happen to be in Melbourne to fly up to Sydney to see if he could find out why it was doing it and he could'nt. My dad who was also an engineer happen to be looking at the car one day just visually from the front and said, "I think the wheel alignment is way out", but this could not be because BMW said they had checked all that. Anyway, that's exactly what if turned out to be. It was out by a huge margin and got it fixed by one of the local tyre/wheel guys at they car was perfect from that time on. So much for BMW engineers... |
