I'd rather see the twin-turbo V8 that's in the X6M in the new M3!

I think Jeremy Clarkson said something similar in an article too,so it looks like the 135 is the best car
+1, until I can afford a M3

It's been said before but, If the M3 & the 135 were the same same price, most of us would take the M. I'm quite happy with Jessica Alba for the rest of my days though, especially if I keep the body in good nick!

You mentioned the latest BMW mag. Though I received my car in October & was told I'd get a subscription to this mag I've received nothing. I rang BMW a couple of months ago re this & they told me there's be no mag issued since then? Hard to believe. I spoke to my brother in Sydney. He bought his BM several years ago & never received the promised mags. Any BMW mags issued this year???

It's horses-for-courses...they're two different cars for two different driving styles. Perhaps the 135i is a car you may eventually grow out of whereas the M3 is a car you could grow with. To me the 135i is the Jessica Alba of the range - young, great body, good for a fun time but you'll eventually grow tired. The M3 is the Monica Bellucci of the range - mature, sophisticated, definitely easy on the eye and if this is what you end up with for the rest of your life...then life is good!
Thanks for that. I've had the 1er for 9 months now and am never bored with it. I love the small size and chuckability of it. The only thing I need sometimes is more space. When I drove the M3 on the road it was a little underwheming unless you absolutely fang it. Still can't make my mind up..

There's an Australian version and I've seen the ones that I get in news agencies too. Having said that, I haven't received one for ages.

I fully agree! I'm beginning to wonder whether a chipped 335i sedan may be a good compromise between the 135i and the M3?!

Never thought of that.

However - the E90 sedan is rather bland. At least the E90 M3 has a bit of street presence.

I'm waiting to tick over 2000km and the first service before I really wind out the M3!

No. Test drive it back to back and you'll know what I mean. I quite like the M3 really, but I will pick the 135i again as my fun car . M3 reserved for DD and track.

It's funny how a topic get evolved to something different...

The 335 is too dull for me (out of the box). I know with mods it's more fun though.
Is the M3 limited by BMW before 2,000k's? That's freekin tough!

I don't now if the M3 is limited in any way though I was told (dunno if true) that it's limited to 340HP until 2000km when the full 414HP are released.

It is recommended to keep the revs below 5500rpm before 2000km. The car then goes in for an oil change and I guess it hammer-time after that

being a BMW person and having had the e46 before the 1er, I share your only complaint, but it's one of my biggest complaints. BMWs have pretty much always had the power window buttons near the gear knob in the center console where it's easy for the driver to operate them as it should be in a driver's car, I don't know what they were thinking of late, but probably some dumb American focus group said "why aren't the window buttons on the doors like every other car?" UGHHHH! oh well, I can live with that given what the car is.

That's tough; I'd be on my way to the Gold Coast too!

I was told to fang my 135 as soon as I wanted too by my sales guy. The service guy told me to leave it under a 5k for the first 1,000km's; I think I lasted about ten mintues..

I didn't log onto this site for a good 2 weeks when I got my 135i. That's the longest amount of time I haven't logged in here. The first weekend I clocked 1,000km easy though. It was hard not to!
