Don't forget about Epic Motorsports. Supposedly they make a good stage one tune as well.

Don't get misled into focusing on peak numbers (unless you're into having a dyno queen). It's all about the area under the curve AND driveability!

FWIW, I've heard terrific things about Cobb.

+100 - I don't understand why people get so fixated with the maximum HP number. When I buy a tune- I look for reliability/repeatability/tuner support.

I can't speak for ESS/Dinan/Evolve- but I've had a great experience so far with the Cobb AP Stage 1 Aggressive with Stock throttle map.

and when you think about what a tune is doing it doesn't hurt to consider being conservative. I don't know ESS or COBB but from other tuned cars I have had I have taken that point into consideration.

Hi,

Which ones from the tunes above are really PnP? Which ones can I uninstall at any time (for dealer visits for instance)?

Thank you

Evolve you install/remove with your laptop. Writing back the stockfile takes about 5 minutes.

if reliability is the most important thing wouldn't everyone go with Dinan?

Still my personal favorite.

And why is Vishnu Procede mysteriously never mentioned on this board? They've focused on the n54 for years.... Have piggybacks fallen out of favor? JB4, a piggyback, comes up all the time...

Don't have dyno results of Cobb, but I do have time slips from my dragstrip which I think it shows how quick it is in real world conditions.

Cobb still has some work to do on their 1M prototype software from what I've heard. I would recommend ESS, GIAC or Rogue. All make similar power and all can be had with a handheld installer (I beleive).

Exactly! You buy an M car for drivability so that is the last thing you want to sacrifice.

Ours come with our own remote tuning device, the Evolve-R. Working off your laptop it also has a built-in code reader and clearer.
