Black aluminum pedals on my 135i

Just bought this set off eBay, was looking for a black finish.

Upon receiving the parts they are as good as on the pictures, real nice.

When test fitting on the car I noticed the clutch and brake pads are quite small, just the exact size of the pedals underneath the rubber covers.

Drilling wasn't too bad, thanks to the brake pedal being made of aluminum and not steel!

You need to be careful regarding screw length on the throttle pedal, since I have the actuator version and on the right side there is no clearance for a screw to stick out behind.

The pedals came with silver hardware but I bought black ones for more discreet look. All metric M3 (= 3mm). I also used nylon lock nuts where possible and locate otherwise.

Here is a picture of the result, will test drive tomorrow but so far I'm happy!

Did I mention the set was $25.99 total???

Those really don't look bad. I always just rip off my rubber pads and put griptape.

Haha, for track use I guess?

Mine is a DD, if I were to do that I'd go through shoes like tires

Nah, just something I did when I was much younger and always liked the feel. It doesn't wear through soles as fast as you might expect and the grip is obviously phenomenal

And cost $79 - $139 for the set. For the same function, I'd take OP's set any day.

Did you get paid for that post?

OP: Looks good. Any plans to match the dead pedal?

Nah. I just am a strong believer in function>form. And these pedals may look nice but don't add anything functional.

Please enlighten us how these differ from ultimate pedals from ultimatepedals.com because they're pedals that are ultimately the most ultimate of pedals, and are the only pedals that are in fact ultimate enough to be ultimate pedals from ultimatepedals.com... your source for the most ultimate pedals for your car.

The extended throttle pedal makes heel toeing easier. Pretty straightforward

Once again, please enlighten us. Your "pretty straightforward" answer makes absolutely no sense as there is NO difference in the shape of the pedals.

But you can go do your heel-toeing through 25MPH urban areas while the rest of us enjoy the aesthetics of OPs selection.

Yes because the ones you posted are the standard pedals. You can get a 3/4 inch extension on the throttle pedal.

My 1 series is also my track car, so anything to help heel toeing is welcome :thumbs up:

The one I posted is the entire catalog of pedals available for the 1er. None of which display the extension option. Not everyone is driving around racing every Honda in sight - The OP made a fine selection in what pedals to put on his car, and should he choose he wants some added function, a Rennline extension will be just fine and still cost less than ultimatepedals.
