Hey guys, I知 doing a 128i track build. I already have 135i front brakes. They work fantastic. The rear calipers on my 128i have some surface rust but still function perfectly. I知 looking to replace them with 135i rear brakes to match the fronts. DM me and let me know what you got. Thanks

You're aware this is not a direct bolt on, at least not if you want to keep the parking brake? But maybe you don't care since it's a track build.

I wasn’t aware that it’s not a direct bolt on. I want to retain the parking brake since I’ll also drive it on the street. What other options do I have for rear brake? I already have 135i front brake.

The issue is that the parking brake diameter on the 135i is larger, and the 128i parts don't bolt on to the 135i hubs, so...

1. Some people have made Franken-parking brake shoes by welding 135i shoes to 128i shoes. (sorry, can't find the thread)

2. Swap in 135i hub and axle assemblies from a pre-LCI 135i automatic.

3. Use the 128i Performance Brake rears, which are just 42mm floating calipers from the 328i (and others) and not fancy fixed calipers. 34216768697 Left and 34216768698 Right. Readily available from the junkyard.

Are you saying use 328i calipers? The same as 128i performance brake calipers? What about rotors? I was thinking of using 135i mainly for aesthetic reasons since I have 135i fronts and my current 128i calipers have surface rust, they look quite bad.

I'm saying that the calipers used in the 128i Performance Brake kit are the same as the stock rear calipers on the 328i, parts numbers listed in the previous post. It uses your stock rear rotors (or stock rear rotor size if you want slotted etc. from the aftermarket). The 328i Performance Brake "kit" consists of ONLY the front calipers and rotors retaining the stock rear calipers.

So, yeah, use 328i rear calipers.
