I'd be interested to hear about your E90 M3 experience. If it wasn't for the bearing failure, would you still be selling it?

Still drive the 135i which still sees some mod love
Also have a 318iS which I've just finished a big suspension overhaul

Looking at importing something special soon. Stay tuned

Nope, I loved it but the engine failure killed the love.
It would have a Harrop Supercharger on it though.

The M140i arrived a few weeks ago, I'm liking it a lot.
I don't know why more people don't get them in manual.

Still have my '09 135i and also own an M135i LCI. Manual and auto, best of both worlds for me.

Thanks for the feedback. I have a bit more time to think about options but I am leaning heavily towards an E90 M3, so it's good to hear that you liked yours... until the engine failure of course.

Nice nice, a lot of people have stuck with the brand and bought something faster.

But, has anyone bought a Lotus or a crazy fast kit car?

Talk about yo-yo'ing..

Bought the E82 when I joined 1addicts in 2008.

Sold the E82 in 2012 for a F30 328i.

Sold the F30 in 2016 for a ND MX-5. Man that car is a blast. Just tuned it over the weekend and have a set of MCA coilovers installed, it's unbelievably fun to drive.

Pics! What kind of power increase does a tune provide? I know with GT86's a tune unleashes around 15-20rwkw if combined with catless headers and E85.

Here you go, a couple of my favourite pics from the past year however I think both were pre-coilovers so it's sitting a little higher that it does now. As for the gains, I'll find out on Monday when I get some time on the dyno and do some before/after runs for comparison and logging to see if I can safely step up a level of tune. When you only weigh just over a tonne every extra kw is noticeable! Not a car for owners who aren't shy at a buffet... By comparison, the E82 weighs about 50% more at just 1.5T IIRC. The higher red-line is nice as well, I don't have to shift to third now before 100kmh. I'm using the OpenFlash tune which I understand also has a good following in the 86/BRZ community. Same guy that developed the Procede for my E82 as well. Very pleased with the results, much like the coilovers this is one of those "wish I'd done it earlier" times.

Thoughts on the Elise S and reason for upgrade to the exige soon after?

I'm looking to change my daily 135i stage2+ to the Elise S in the near future!
Helps that someone has already gone through that change!

Great looking car mate. Thanks for the upload. Keen to hear the results from the dyno .. as the OpenFlash has been on my radar too.

I went from the 1M to an 86, then almost to a Macan GTS, but ended up going with an M3 because I really wanted to stick with a manual

Short answer is that my 3 year lease was up and I got offered a deal I couldn't say no to on the Exige.

The reality is that out of the box the Exige has been quicker than my modified Elise S and has a lot more potential.

PM is you are after some more information.

I was lucky enough for my wife to let me buy it even though she can't drive manual (but I had to forfeit my say on our next car... )

I started with E92 335 sold it after 2.5 years of ownership for a daily Skoda VRS but at the same time I bought a 1M as a weekender. However after 18 Months, I have sold it and no longer part of BMW anymore. Rest assured "I'll Be BACK!"
