help finding part for headlight repair

Hey all,

My front passenger headlight isn't working so I started troubleshooting the issue. I disassembled the headlight to find the ballast completely corroded. Easy fix, I'll just order a replacement on Ebay for $35. However the silver wire running from the HID bulb to the ballast is also corroded. I'm trying to find a replacement online with no success and need some help. It's part number 15 on the diagram below.

Thanks,
Evan

No idea about new, but this seems like something that might be DIY-able, to replace the wire by popping the terminals out of the plastic connector and opening them up, and re-closing them on a new wire (with some solder as an added bonus). Have you considered it?

At a minimum maybe try the home-brewed baking soda idea that can work for battery terminals, to clean the connectors and maybe just re-use everything.

Have you tried asking a dealer? Some parts are hard to find on the ETK... and an experienced parts guy can help.

You could also buy a wrecked/damaged headlight off ebay. ?

You could try your dealer, but they're really more specific to the ballast than they are to the car (Valeo D1S)
