Temp Gauge for E87

Thinking of buying a "Scangauge" that connects to the OBD to, mainly, read off coolant temp. They look simple just connect to the 16 pin OBD and rig up a mounting and you're in business. Anyone here done this or something similar?

I use a BT OBD and BT paired with an Android unit/phone with the Torque App.
