Hmm, this leaves me wondering if 18x8.5 ET38 would fit on mine that's a bit lower than yours. With a bit of extra camber they seem to sit flush.

I had PSSs in 215/45-17 on the stock 7 inch front wheel ET35 (after spacers) and in the rear the same 225/45-17 I have now, but on the stock 7 1/2 inch wheel with an effective ET32 with spacers.

Steering response is predictably sharper due to both the lighter wheels and firmer sidewalls.

The ride quality has also noticeably improved despite the firmer sidewalls.

The car also feels quicker. I'm sure losing 6 1/2 pounds per corner (14%) of rotating mass helps, but I have no practical way to verify that it's any quicker.

Have you considered 235 45s?

I am completing a set of 17x8.5 arc8s for next year's summer setup and wanted to check!

No, as on the Michelin PSSs the 235/45-17 and the 225/45-17 have the same tread width of 8.2 inches.

Woah learning something new.

That is interesting. But I assume the total width is wider?

Thank you for the response by the way!
