I preoordered it thru Gamestop. Darn, Prologue was like 2 years ago. Graphics were amazing then, yeah hope it's more than that. Hard to beat Forza 3. Can guarantee graphics will be better since this is a PS3 exclusive, but what new will it bring to the table?

I pre-ordered GT5 a while ago and I'm excited to get it. I actually bought the PS3 and GT5 Prologue to ease the pain whilst I waited for my car to be built back in late 2008. I invested heaps of time into Prologue which was pretty disappointing in terms of gameplay, I'm hoping GT5 will be much better.

I think it'll be well worth it. I still need to figure out how and where to fix one of those Logitech racing wheels with all three pedals, thumbsticks just don't cut it. Not sure when I'll have time to play it exactly though...

I was really disappointed with the Prologue so i will wait for reviews and / or rent it first before shelling out over $100. I feel forza 3 has a far better gameplay than GT5P with a Logitech G25 which is $500 of steering wheel..

hmmm..... looks like they've been somewhat selective with the images they've released over the last 5 years....
pictures like this are in Photo Mode, not in game: That said, I have my doubts about that first picture being 100% authentic, I doubt they've gone THAT far backwards compared to GT5:P |

At the end of the day you buy a game to play it not to watch it. The driving simulation in GT5P was terrible and i found it quite boring. I've had much more fun playing games like Live For Speed on PC with a G25 where the simulation is incredibly close to real cars to the point where you can burn the clutch, pop the tires etc. The graphics are terrible but its a load of fun.

GT5 is in the BigW catalogue that goes on sale tomorrow Thur 25/11/10 for $77.97 - will pick one up tomorrow morning. Also noticed a funky 3-in-1 remote for PS3 which is a Blu-Ray remote, game controller and keypad for $49.92 - might get one of those too.

That's a great price amk2912, I would buy at the price too if I hadn't already pre-ordered.
I've seen a couple reviews on youtube that are pretty harsh on GT5 claiming it does not live up to the hype. It better be good after waiting this long! |

After just completing my first season on F1 2010, I'm loathe to go buy another driving game at the moment. I've still got six seasons to go (can't see me playing it for that long actually, as I've already signed up with Ferrari and hopefully collect a contract with Red Bull or McLaren next season which is what I was chasing). For those looking to get F1, be aware that there is no two player, split screen mode. Games like this I've always loved having in my collection for when mates come around but was most disappointed when I realised that it's strictly a one player game unless your play it online.

just picked up my copy this morning, second person at the store haha.
I've only given it a quick spin, and as i haven't really played a proper racing game since gt4 i cant really compare it to the other games (e.g. forza) nor give it a really meaningful review. Starting with the graphics, they were good, but i duno, i was expecting something with a little more wow factor?? some of the shadows and a few other things seemed a bit chippy/squarey, and overall still looks like a game. the 3d mode seems to be implemented really well while driving, but gets annoying when in the main menu or anywhere where you actually have to read something as the glasses dim the screen a bit. As for game play, i only tried it out for a little bit in arcade mode with a few cars, the behaviour and character of the cars seems to be pretty damn good and from what i remember of gt4 back like 5 years ago! seems to have improved somewhat. but hard for me to judge against other games... |

it's bloody awesome to play with a cockpit, you can wrestle with the wheel and stomp on the pedals and they don't go anywhere. much better than playing with the wheel on your lap or (god forbid) a regular ps3 controller! |
