Boot opens by itself.

My 3rd brake light lens came off last week and I have the car booked in tomorrow for it to be repaired, however since yesterday morning the boot keeps opening up by itself! Ill open the car, jump in and the warning light tells me it's open so I jump out and close it, 10 seconds later the warning light is on again and the boot is open. The only way around this is for me to close the boot, sprint back the the driver seat, close the door and manually lock the doors myself one I'm inside.

Anyone else know of this problem and what it could be?

Thanks.

Is the remote trunk switch being caught or stuck? Its down by your hood release cable(driver left leg) area.

Or does your car have comfort access - and/or do you have a spare key fob in the trunk?

Thanks for replying, just checked all all seems fine there.

It's odd because its not doing it every time, just now and again.

Wondering if water got into it after the Brake lens came off.

^Good points. Also can you use the switch in the glove box to lock the trunk for the time being until you get your car in?

I had this problem in my car. Turns out the latch was not adjusted correctly. Dealer fixed it very quickly.
