Everyone looking to get 19's would best get the setup below or an equivalent, so that the tire wheel combo fits in the space of the OEM wheel.

Front
Tire: 225/30/19
Wheel: 9x19 +48

Rear
Tire: 225/30/19
Wheel: 9x19 +46

Perfect Fit
Wheels: Breyton GTS-R

Suspension/Fender Mods/Camber:
Vorshlag camber plates at about -2.2 and above mentioned spacers. TC Kline Koni shocks with coilovers. No fender rolling. No rubbing, but need to check the front after pushing the car hard on the track as it is somewhat close to the shock body and may need another 1-2 mm spacer.

Wheels: Enkei NT-03

Front: 18x 8.5 +38
Spacer: 5mm

Rear: 18x 9.5 +58 (Hub centric to BMW but with a 5x120.65 bolt pattern from a Corvette)
Spacer: none

Tires:
Front Toyo R1R 255/35/18
Rear Toyo R1R 265/35/18

Suspension/Fender Mods/Camber:
KW Variant 3 Coilovers w/ HP Autowerks Springs, Vorshlag Camber plates @ max neg camber.

Front fenders rolled slightly.
Rear fenders rolled with a proper tool as of 03/09. (No more baseball bat!)
Approx 2" strip of the liner has been cut out in the rear.

Notes:
Rear is VERY LOW. No rubbing on the race track or during regular street driving. I was able to get it to mouse squeak of a rub once while going down a very steep driveway but otherwise I would call this a "no rub" setup!

And the disclaimer: Use the rear wheels at your OWN RISK! I have talked to several wheel manufacturers and the bolt pattern size difference is small enough that no machining is needed, but it IS NOT A BMW 5x120! Make sure the wheels balanced properly and you are using STEEL lug nuts or lug bolts with the proper torque. I use 90ft/lbs in the rear and 85ft/lbs in the front.

Another Breyton GTS-R setup

Wheels: Breyton GTS-R

Front: 18x 8.5 +48
Spacer: 5 MM

Rear: 18x 8.5 +48
Spacer: none

Tires:
Front Goodyear F1 Asymmetric 245/35/18
Rear Goodyear F1 Asymmetric 245/35/18

Suspension/Fender Mods/Camber:
Stock

Notes:
No rubbing so far although am guessing under full compression (turn) up front I might get some rub on outer fender. I have camber plates I plan to install just to be safe (and dial in better steering - negative camber) but may not be needed pending tire choice. Note: 5 MM spacer just barely allows tire to clear strut but should be sufficient while allowing least chance of rub on outer front fender. Ton's of room in rear. In fact I may add a 5 or 10 MM spacer to rears to match flush look of fronts. Square setup will allow me to rotate wheels.

Rear 8x17 +43 with 235/45-17

Toyo Proxes T1R

Excellent near to factory setup, looks good, both comfortable and sportive ride.
Excellent tire, silent, great grip.
I've found this set to be way better than for example 225/45 + 255/40 set without sacrfying look.

They are 18 x 8 et40 front & 18 x 9 et 43 rear. See post #54 for website and model #... They weigh about 22 & 24 lbs respectively, certainly not light, however they are 2-3 lbs lighter per corner than the OEM 264's.

I also have Toyo R1R's (225/255). They are a pretty new tire, and they look aggressive. They weight 23 & 25 lbs respectively.

They are very sticky... A little loud though...

They rubbed a little over highway bumps, but I rolled the rears fenders just a little and the rubbing is gone.

Suspension is stock sport package...
