APEX Wheel Accessory Group Buy
ADDITIONAL ENTRIES CLOSED
Hey guys, Been speaking to the guys over at APEX in the states. Wanted to organize a bit of a group buy for wheel accessories. Some of the stuff available include: - Stud conversions (various lengths) - Lug nut replacements (also various lengths) - Wheel spacers - Replacement lock nuts APEX never discount wheel accessories, however, because I asked nicely, they are willing to offer us a small discount of 5% (nothing massive but still something) if we can get 10 or more sets of wheel accessories happening. We'll obviously save on the shipping costs as well. I'll have all the parts sent to me and I'll distribute them out separately once I receive them. As the prices are in USD, I think the best method of payment to me would be in USD to my PayPal account. However, lets organize the numbers first, then we can process the moula. For a list of available accessories, please see the link below: http://www.apexraceparts.com/Wheel-A...ries_c_40.html 01 - PeteA - 75mm BMW Stud Conversion 5 Lug Kit (Black) + optional install kit 02 - froop - 75mm BMW Stud Conversion 5 Lug Kit (Black) + optional install kit 03 - Giveway74 - 75mm BMW Stud Conversion 5 Lug Kit (Black) + optional install kit 04 - KD135 - 75mm BMW Stud Conversion 5 Lug Kit (Black) + optional install kit 05 - JB4135 - 75mm BMW Stud Conversion 5 Lug Kit (Black) + optional install kit 06 - Curare86 - 20 x 75mm Studs only (black) with m12x1.5 pitch 07 - Steve500 - 75mm BMW Stud Conversion 5 Lug Kit (Black) + optional install kit 08 09 10

Yeah I'll probably go with black. Black works on silver wheels but silver lugs don't really work on black wheels IMO.
But yeah Shane, studs are cool because if you change spacers and stuff you don't have to be changing lug bolts too. Just lazy mode really.

You'd be amazed at how much time is cut when taking off/changing wheels with studs.

I hear a lot of lug bolts shearing off or breaking, especially with track use. Is this less of an issue with studs?

Just be aware guys if you want the studs for spacers 15mm and above, you will need the 90mm kit.

Also at the end of a long trackday and the wheels and brakes are still piping hot, the less time you have to hang around the discs and callipers the better. Also they are stronger for repeated on and off use so i'm told

I am about to install mine and just wondering how long the people who have installed theirs let the loctite cure for? I watched some videos on youtube and they just screw the stud in and throw the wheel back on and torque it

as far as i know, the advantage with the studs is the force is spread more evenly .. somehow... the nut pulling it back, rather than the bolt twisting in or something? same way engine studs are stronger i guess (apart from clamping force) |

The only thing i could think of was that the studs can make wheel changes easier by being able to rest the wheel on the studs and then you can start spinning the nuts on whereas with bolts the rim can only be rested on the hub and can potentially be more difficult as the wheel can rock off the hub when you're going to torque the bolt up? |

http://www.loctiteproducts.com/tds/T_LKR_RED_tds.pdf loctite red (at least what my studs came coated with) has a reasonable breakaway torque itself |
