The level of difficulty is hard to access from the information you provided. If you list your (entertainment related) vehicle option list, we might be able to give more specific pointers.
Globally there are 3 sound levels offered on the E82/1M. However the effort involved mostly depends on whether you have any features from factory that have a MOST bus (optical bus for digital audio/video communications like navigation, combox or cd changer). If you don't, I'd suggest considering the Alpine audio retrofit. This is because retrofitting the most bus can be done, but you'd be gutting the driver side and dashboard of both cars to perform this, also you need to be or hire someone with 2 right hands to route the optical wires without destroying them. You will have to code the car if you change between the OEM audio equipment. IRC, if you have Hifi audio the bass and door speakers are equal to HK audio. Only the window tweeters and rear shelf speakers have to be switched. If you have base audio then you will also have to re-wire the speaker cables (starting from the driver side trunk iso of the headunit). Search for 'audio' in the 1M, coupe and DIY sections of forum and some more background info will show up with parts numbers etc. good luck and do keep us posted along the way. |

Speaker wire colors and routing are the same, but TOP-HiFi/HK has a 20 pin connector and your current HiFi has a 42 pin connector (input output and power supply signals on 1 connector). Those input wires will be obsolete after the switch). Last edited by eeghie; 02-04-2014 at 11:53 AM.. |

[QUOTE=eeghie;15379846]If you have the factory CD-changer then you have a MOST bus and thus have the Professional Radio 663 (Hifi or middle audio level). This is the easiest HK retrofit scenario.
can you explain to me please ? if you can find a pics or a DIY |

The '2007-09 onwards' WDS12 schematics that I used for some of the desk research comments above, are attached for the diy rearranging of the speaker and supply pins. For more specific help and confirmation you'd have to specify build date of the involved vehicles and your Vehicle Option (VO) list or VIN.
