Car rocking while in park??

I was sitting in my car waiting for it to warm up and felt the car rocking back and forth. At first I thought it was just me, but it kept doing it for a few minutes. I would assume that it's the transmission, but not sure what would make it do it. Any thoughts?

Our 1er does the same thing sometimes. At first, i thought it was my imagination, but i actually stepped outside to see if the car was rocking back and forth...and indeed, it was!

Do the 6MT mod, it fixes all kinds of problems like that.

I've always used to parking brake. Never had any rocking because of the parking brake. Love my DCT. I don't have any of the problems that some people have reported having with it. Fastest transmission I've ever had... and bug free.

It's the first time I noticed it. I usually park on a slight incline and how small it rocks wouldn't be noticeable.

Mine started doing this after a sw update to fix the idle issue. wobbles like a message chair if it sits for more then 30hrs it will shake/wobble for 20-60sec. BMW says "runs as designed" this reminds me of my 1972 Ford with bad Points cept it's only for a min.

My worry is this issue is more like the cup of water on the dashboard in Jurassic Park when alls ya see is the ripples, waiting for the moment the monsters gonna get you.

Exactly. It shouldn't try to engage the transmission while in park.
