alarm light

the 135 is pre wired for an alarm and has the red lens light or cover under the rear view mirror. 1st why is it so big and has anyone been able to remove it. think it is very tacky looking.

It's a bit of BMW tradition to have the "clown nose".
Second, if you don't have auto dimmer rear view as an option, the clown nose is the knob to turn to dim your mirror.
