I just received my VO 1M 1:18 model from CK-Models, didn't bother to ask for a discount and just passed the order on-line last week.

Payment-delivery-packaging and quality of the product itself are hard to fault.

I will keep my name in Dack's list though since you can't have too much of these beauties anyway and at least the Moto GP model deserves extra waiting.

Initially (Spring 2011) there was only the 1:43 limited edition made available by BMW, in principle for dealerships. But, as we know, these did not all end up in the hands of dealerships, well on the contrary. Nowadays these 1:43 models change hands for pretty hefty prices (much more than simply a markup - quadruple of the 2011 sale price is no exception).

Back in 2011 a 1:18 model was in the making and due for release too, but things didn't go according to plan due to a manufacturer liquidation procedure in the Far East, freezing the 1:18 die cast project for ± three years (lawsuit issues).

It is quite remarkable that the 1M, though a discontinued short-lived vehicle, keeps garnering the interest of the market and thus of die cast manufacturers (Matchbox, Minichamps, GT Spirit).

It also says something about how special the car is in 1:1 format (as if we weren't aware of that, of course ).

Very happy with my GT Spirit models. Minichamps, on the other hand, has consistently been a massive disappointment. Unfortunately, their glory days seem to be behind them.

In other news... I have been in talks with Max. He now tells me that the 1:18 models will not be ready until late Spring or early Summer 2015. This isn't what I was expecting, but it is what it is. Max still says the quality of his model will surpass that of the GT Sprint model.

I fully understand if some of you guys want to purchase the Sprint 1:18 model. You can also buy those direct from CK Models. Just let me know if I should change my list.

The Monte Carlo Blau is my favourite so far.

I also think one of these would go well with the all the other 1:43 BMW 1er M Coupé models

it's pretty silly that Minichamps just keeps releasing different colours of the 1M.....in colours that were not even produced like this random yellow...

if anything, they should have released a MotoGP 1M in 1:43 scale...

Minichamps are not allowed to make a model unless it was avalible in that colour from BMW, I think the Java Green, Monte Carlo Blue and Atacama Yellow were "Individual colours" and there was another Bronze colour version as well but I can't remember the name.

I have asked Max Lang at Minichamps about a MotoGP 1M in 1:43 but I don't think it will ever happen.

I've seen the bronze car on this forum....but have only seen a 'wrapped' Monte Carlo one and a yellow one that was painted Dakar Yellow by the owner. Do the yellow and blue ones really exist? their owners must keep them in hiding then

Firstly I have to apologise to you IEDEI and admit that I was wrong about the individual colours.

Sorry I was having brain fade when I said that the “Individual” coloured Monte Carlo Blue and the Atacama Yellow vehicles would have had to have been produced by BMW before Minichamps were able to make a model of them.

After looking back at my email history I can now see that I was confused with an email that I received about the BMW Concept 1 Series Tii that never made it into production.

What I was actually told was that because BMW never made the BMW Concept 1 Series Tii that Minichamps could not make it, so I still don’t know if BMW ever produced any “Individual” coloured BMW 1 Series M Coupés in Monte Carlo Blue or Atacama Yellow.

After looking all night on the internet all I can come up with is that supposedly the last four BMW 1 Series M Coupés that were made were “Individual” coloured vehicles, the rest being either Standard Alpine White or Optional Valencia Orange or Sapphire Black.

So if the Java Green vehicle was production number 6328 out of the 6331 units sold worldwide that still leaves three others that I can not find any information about.

They exist, but are hard to spot (no pics known yet featuring the Atacama Yellow 1M but it is somewhere out there). Price: almost as expensive as the car itself.General BMW paint trivia: the most exclusive/expensive BMW paint is "BMW Individual Pure Metal Silver":

^^that is correct about the Tii Concept - that is also what Max from Minichamps told me.

As for the Individual cars... yes, BMW did make them, but those colors were not cheap. I've heard the "Individual color option cost almost as much as the 1M's base price. Almost. At least that is my understanding.

I was also told that the Prince of Bayern wanted a special color like silver... but when he heard how much it was gonna cost him... he decided on AW in a totally base car with no options.

At first the Individual colors - the cars had to be built in one of the three standard colors, then the car was shipped to Garching and disassembled, painted and then reassembled. Thats why the color price was so expensive.

Later on the Yellow, MCB and Green cars were built and painted in Leipzig where the 1er are built. I suspect these cars color options were much cheaper.

I've been told BMW made a few cars in:

(2)Polaris Silver
(1)Sepang Bronze
(2)Atacama Yellow
(2)Monte Carlo Blue
(3)Java Green (but only one, with the Black Mamba stripes)

One of the Polaris Silver cars went to one of the BMW board members who also owns a 2002Turbo in the SAME color!
