Hyperco / Hypercoil 60mm springs loose in perch?

Anyone here with experience using hyperco hypercoil 60mm linear springs? I just got a pair of 6" 450lb/in springs (186M0450) to mate up with a fresh set of GC street camber plates with a 60mm perch. The setup went on my ST coilovers, and to my surprise the spring is loose both on the adjustment collar and the 60mm GC perch by about 1/8" slop.

I figured I'd need to machine down the adjustment collars per HP and others that have converted KW/ST coilovers to a linear spring setup. The model number is carved into the spring ends and matches with the manufacturer lit stating it's a 60mm spring (M).

So, anyone ever note that hyperco spring run slightly large/loose? I'm getting a lot of clunk/thud action now and it's terribly annoying. Any insight?

Not that it shows much of anything but here's the setup after breaking a top stud off in the car, grinding out the spot weld, turning in a new one and welding it up.

Yeah well, you get that with Hiperco. I used to use them, and depending on rate the spring ID changes because the wire gauge changes. Dont know why they do that..... Happened to me a few times. The stiffer rates were unusable for me.

You're getting clunking when it's on the car, with weight on it?

I'd think once installed, you'd never see any slop.

Yep, clunks when loaded over slow speed bumps. It's side-to-side slop that remains, it shifts around over bumps. Seems to stop or at least is less noticable when driving over say 30mph.

I'm a little let down. I realize these are "race" springs and all, but they are so loose that I'm pouring some 80A urethane collars to stick between the spring ID and perch collars. When I pull them off the car tonight I'll stick my digital caliper in there and post up the actual ID measurement.
